BOOKING GUARANTEE PREAUTHORISATION
Please note, a deposit is not required. However, a booking guarantee (in the form of a preauthorisation) is required and must be completed within seven days to secure your booking and function. The booking guarantee can be found and completed through the link in your confirmation email. If the booking guarantee is not received within the arranged timeframe, the space may be released to other parties.

 

The booking guarantee is $20 per person. No, this is not the cost of your visit! Please don’t be confused. The “Booking Guarantee” as it’s not a deposit, there is nothing to be taken off the total bill on the day of your event. This $20 payment is only drawn if the cancellation notice is not given within substantial time to D&D, or if you no-show on the day.

HIGH TEA FULL PAYMENT
All High Tea bookings require full payment at the time of booking. At the time of booking, you will need to select from the following High Tea Menu: D&D High Tea, Sparkling High Tea (includes zero alcohol cuvee option), Collet Art Deco Champagne High Tea, Bridgerton High Tea.

 

All High Teas at Dandelion & Driftwood are served in the traditional fashion, on a shared tiered stand (one between two) and includes one hot beverage per person {choice of tea or coffee}. Please note, cold drinks can be purchased but are not included in the high tea price. High Teas are per person price for adults and children, we do not offer a separate menu for children.

 

D&D high teas are available as vegetarian friendly, gluten free friendly and severe allergies friendly option only, however we are unable to cater for vegan or lactose intolerance high teas at this time. For further information on this, please read the dietary requirements heading that follows.

HIGH TEA LEFTOVERS

If you are a small eater or bringing children, we encourage you to bring an airtight container to pack up any High Tea elements not consumed on the day, to assist in reducing further packaging. Alternatively take away pack up trays are available to purchase $1 per tray per person to take goods home.

MINIMUM SPENDS

Minimum spend does apply to all Private Dining Room bookings.

 

The Cecil Ernest Private Dining Room requires a $300 minimum spend on weekdays and $400 minimum spend on weekends. All Cecil Ernest bookings are two-hour dining experiences. Bookings in this Private Room that wish to exceed the two-hour time allocation can purchase additional time at $100 per hour. (1) The D&D Dining Room Rear, (2) D&D Dining Room Rear and Tea Garden, and (3) Venue Space will be subject to a quoted minimum spend. This will be agreed upon by the event organiser and must be met by the group on the day. If this amount is not met, the minimum will still apply and be charged to the bill. All large group bookings and functions are two-hour dining experiences.

CAKEAGE

Celebratory cakes brought on the premises, will incur a cakeage fee of $3.50 per person. Cake will then be cut and served, individually plated by the Dandelion & Driftwood team.

GUEST ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

It is the responsibility of the guests to please ensure that they arrive and finish on time for the allocated booking time slot. We will allow a 15-minute leeway for bookings, however as a courtesy, please notify us of any late arrivals via phone (07 3667 8388). If late, the management team at Dandelion & Driftwood will notify if any extensions can be made to the departure time (otherwise it will remain the same and therefore the booking time shortened).

 

DECORATIONS

There are to be no table scatters, sparklers, balloons, photo booths or hen’s paraphernalia in the venue. Thanks for your understanding, as we try our best to keep the venue safe and clean for all. Floral arrangements are welcomed.

 

If time permits, we can allow 15 minutes for decorations to be set up, subject to notice of seven days before the event. If notice is not given, we cannot always guarantee a previous booking will be finished in time.

FINAL NUMBERS
For group bookings we understand your numbers may change, however final numbers are required two working days (48 hours) prior to your function date please. Payment per person will apply to this guaranteed final numbers, or the final head count, whichever is greater.

 

If guests do cancel (after the 48-hour deadline) or no show on the day, we are happy to provide the high tea packed to go, as our chefs have already prepared/catered for your group booking.

SURCHARGE

Please note on a Saturday and Sunday weekend 10% surcharge applies to bookings. Further drinks, cakeage fee and boxes to pack up leftovers will incur this surcharge. In addition, all week a small % fee is charged on all eftpos and credit card payments (0.53 Eftpos, 1.09 Visa, 1.09 Mastercard, 0.95 AMEX).

CANCELLATIONS

All cancellations are to be made in writing on email to bookings@dandeliondriftwood.com. In the event of a cancellation, postponement, or transfer of the event date, you must advise in writing seven days or more before the function date.

​

DAMAGES

The client is financially liable for any damage to café/restaurant property, fixtures or fittings whether sustained by their own actions, or through the actions of their guests, contractors or subcontractors. Nothing is to be nailed, screwed, stuck or stapled to the walls, doors or other surfaces please which are part of the restaurant.

​

ENTERTAINMENT & AV
Any external suppliers are required to sign a waiver regarding financial liability for damages prior to the event.

​

INSURANCE /PUBLIC LIABILITY

Dandelion & Driftwood accepts no responsibility for damage or loss of merchandise, equipment or personal items left in the venue prior to, during, or after a group booking or function.

​

SMOKING

Smoking is not permitted in any designated areas as enforced by Dandelion & Driftwood management.

 

OTHER FOOD/BEVERAGES

Dandelion & Driftwood does not permit any external food or beverages to be brought onto the premise.

​

DRESS CODE

Dandelion & Driftwood asks guests to be dressed in smart-casual attire (looking your fabulous self!). There is to be no thongs or singlets worn in the venue, thanks kindly.

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS

Dandelion & Driftwood breakfast, lunch and set menus can cater for gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, and severe allergies for most of our menus.

 

All dietary requirements will need to be emailed to our team 48 hours before the booking time please. If additional dietary requirements are presented on the day, we will do our best to cater, but cannot guarantee that we will have stock available.

CHILDREN/UNDER 18 YEARS OLD

All children 17 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult. We will always try our best to accommodate prams and carriers, however, please be mindful there is often only limited space within the function dining room.

PRAMS

Pram access is available through the ramp, at the rear of the cafe, off Gerler Rd. Please select at the time of booking the “pram” tag, we are only able to accommodate a couple of prams at one time due to the floor plan of our dining room.

​

HIGHCHAIRS

Two highchairs are available to use, however as in limited supply it is always best to request ahead of time.

​

CHANGE TABLE

Regrettably no baby change table is provided, due to space and structural wall limitations of the venue, however prams can be wheeled into larger disabled unisex toilet to the rear of the café to accommodate nappy changing.

​

RESPONSIBLE SERVICE OF ALCOHOL

As per the Liquor Act 1992, Dandelion & Driftwood ensures that alcohol is served responsibly and at any point, staff may refuse the service of alcohol to anyone who appears intoxicated. It is our responsibility to ensure a safe working environment for our staff and any action taken will be supported by management. If in the event of unruly intoxication, the person will be subject to leave the premises and charged if necessary.

PRIVACY

Dandelion & Driftwood reserves the right to use any photographs and images taken of the spaces booked during your group booking or function, provided they are taken by an employee or contractor of Dandelion & Driftwood and are for the legitimate purpose of advertising or marketing.

 

Furthermore, it is a condition of entry to the venue that all photography and videography content or likewise created by Dandelion & Driftwood Pty Ltd employees or contractors taken at the venue will remain the intellectual property of Dandelion & Driftwood Pty Ltd and be able to be used at its discretion in any digital, online, website or physical use, where deemed appropriate, minors excluded.

WHEELCHAIR/DISABLED ACCESS

Wheelchair access is available through the ramp, at the rear of the cafe, off Gerler Rd. A wheelchair accessible toilet is also available on location at Dandelion & Driftwood, this is also accessible though the ramp at the rear of the café.
